OT proudly presents: The Frame Collection

Project: Frame Collection
December 2024

Design: Julia Treutlein, Meerbusch, Germany
Realization: Oliver Treutlein GmbH, Meerbusch, Germany

We’ve all seen it and been impressed by it: the extraordinary wall art and plastered ceilings in old castles and palaces, such as Palace of Versailles, Neuschwanstein Castle, Windsor Castle and many others.

Inspired by this ancient craftmanship, which has never gone out of style, Julia Treutlein came up with the idea of turning things upside down. Everything is a question of perspective and OT wants to chance your view on frames for your home, to make it a perfect place for every occasion: The frame for your dinner table with family and friends. The frame for a cozy evening beside the fireplace. The frame for a playful afternoon on the floor with the kids. A frame to discover the world. Always being able to experience OT carpets closely as a masterpiece of craftmanship.

A modern twist with natural components

In designing and developing this very special Frame Collection, we wanted to give ancient handcrafts a modern twist: Baroque elements and geometric ornamentation meet the simplicity and elegance of finest natural materials. Pure N.Z. Wool, Wool’n Tencia and Bamboo are tufted and carved by hand into textile frames. Our experience allows us to accomplish three-dimensional sculptural surfaces in one carpet. And there are no limits in variations:

‘Oak’ gives you guidance through straight lines and rectangular elements, ‘Ash’ brings playfulness with differently sized round elements, while ‘Beech’ excites with geometrical precision. In addition, we chose a natural and earthy color scheme for these an all other models, to enhance our belief in natural components.

So just as their role models, the plastered ceilings and walls that we admire worldwide, these carpets will also never get out of style and will additionally last a lifetime thanks to our high standards as a family business!
