Monaco Yacht Show 2024 – A walk around the world with OT

For this year’s Monaco Yacht Show, we came up with a very simple yet mesmerizing idea for our show carpets. After years of working with vibrant colors for the show, which were indeed very appealing, we decided to manufacture something very different this time: Two carpets in a warm beige colour, which gave our stand a very cozy and luxurious charm. Nevertheless, it was by no means too cozy or even sleepy at our stand – on the opposite, we were delighted with the large number of visitors and the exciting hustle and bustle at our stand. Our carpets were decorated down to the smallest detail with sights from all over the world: London, New York, Amsterdam, Berlin, Barcelona, Paris, Monaco, Sydney… even the adults became children again as they searched the carpet for familiar landmarks. From the Tower Bridge to the Sagrada Familia and the Louvre – no one has ever felt the world beneath their feet in such an appealing and comfortable way. It was fun for young and old alike and we were overjoyed by the positive feedback from our visitors.

In addition to our beloved monuments carpet, we have dedicated the wall carpet on our stand to our home region Meerbusch, which is located near Düsseldorf in Germany. We consciously chose this contrast to the many great cities of the world as it embodies who we are and what we stand for: A family-run company, that has been allowed to produce hand-tufted carpets of the highest quality for 44 years now. While we are very grateful for the worldwide recognition of our craftsmanship, it is important to us to always look to our family values, which are strongly rooted in our home region.

When finest materials meet craftsmanship

As with all our carpets, we have made our show carpets with the highest care and using only natural fibres. The main components are made of bamboo, a very pleasantly soft fibre with an elegant shimmer. To give our carpets dimension despite their monochromatic colouring, we used finest New Zealand wool and linen for some elements of the landmarks. The unusual design also gave us the opportunity to apply various tufting, shearing and carving methods, allowing us to demonstrate the diversity

of our processing methods in a single work. All the hard work paid off – as we have already mentioned – we really enjoyed the enthusiasm of our customers and visitors. We would like to thank everyone who visited us at our stand at the Monaco Yacht Show this year and showed interest in our craft. We had so many great conversations! We would especially like to thank our long-standing customers, whom we are always pleased to see again. We have already gained a lot of inspiration from the interesting discussions and are looking forward to getting creative again soon for the Monaco Yacht Show 2025.
